When The Storm Finally Came

When The Storm Finally Came We sat together alone in the park We talked about the weather as the sky became dark We held each other against the threat of the rain And we ran for cover when the storm finally came. We thought forever would always be the same Thought we would be together through the clouds and the rain But the ways that we traveled have been filled with such pain That love came unraveled, when the storm finally came. Into the heat of the night into the warmth of loves flame Came a flash of white light and the thunder and rain The storm clouds gathered to put out the flame And love no longer mattered when the storm finally came.

Our Song Will Be New

Our Song Will Be New I'm not a prophet, but I know that its true Our song will be new. Someone once told me all the songs had been written But I hear something different when I see your faceI  I hear a song as new as tomorrow That even time can’t erase. I'm not a prophet, but I know that its true Our song will be new. Someone once told me all the scenes had been painted But I see something different when I see your eyes. I see a vista as fresh as the future As blue as the sky. I'm not a prophet, but I know that its true Our song will be new.

Lonesome Evening Wind

Lonesome Evening Wind It's a hard rain falling on my shoulder  Since that time, since that time. The only thing I've done is I've grown older Except in mind, in my mind. I spent those hours and miles  Knowing someday I’d come back again, Because my dreams have not been shattered Or scattered on the lonesome evening wind! Every day I've gone further, maybe nearer  Since that time, since that time. I'm not sure that I'm the man that’s in my mirror, In my mind, in my mind. All the people that I know Say I'm the kind who’d break before he’d bend Or let one single dream be shattered  Or scattered on the lonesome evening wind. I see tragic traces o n the fragile frozen faces that I meet All the time, all the time Lonely empty people on the street They bring to mind, they bring to mind The pain that I’ve been feeling And the knowledge that this road may never end But those dreams have not been shattered  Or scattered on the lonesome evening wind.

Memories And Mist

Memories And Mist Oftentimes important things are not quite what they seem And all that will become of them will drift into a dream Fleeting like the darkness is the evening's final kiss As lovers' warm endeavors fade to memories and mist. Paint for me a memory of loves I’ve left behind A watercolor image of the fog inside my mind A breathless line of poetry, a moist and trembling kiss In the foggy half reality of memories and mist. Tomorrow I’ll remember in pastel blues and grays The names and faces but a blur, a whisper in the haze A subtle loss of details in the struggle to exist As my sense of past and present fade to memories and mist. Play for me a melody of loves I’ve left behind In tones of sensual subtlety, the tune that haunts my mind An intertwining harmony blending like a kiss In the foggy half reality of memories and mist.

Let The River Wash Me (To the Gulf of Mexico)

Let The River Wash Me (To the Gulf of Mexico) Chorus  Ashes to ashes, iron turns to rust. It's better to die living than to grovel in the dust. And when the living’s over, turn me loose and let me go Let the river wash me to the Gulf of Mexico! Verse 1 Before my father was my father, he took comfort in the breeze  When the shade fell down upon him by the creek beneath the trees, He followed that old creek bank wherever it would go Where the water meets the water to the Gulf of Mexico! Chorus  Ashes to ashes, iron turns to rust. It's better to die living than to grovel in the dust. And when the living’s over, turn me loose and let me go Let the river wash me to the Gulf of Mexico! Verse 2 The time was drawing near. I didn’t know what I should know. So we drank a beer and talked about the row we had to hoe. Take my ashes to the creek bank, spread them out and let me go. It will take me to the river and the Gulf of Mexico! Chorus  Ashes to ashes, iron turns to rust. It's bet

Zombie Stare

Zombie Stare You smile but when you smile your not here A stoic style to help you hide the fear And no one sees No one sees. And now you're hanging from the ledge, afraid to care Walking on the edge with no one there, And I alone can see the zombie stare That no one sees No one sees. Dead inside, you just live for the fight But you can't hide the pain when you're alone at night And no one sees,  No one sees. And now you're hanging from the ledge, afraid to care Walking on the edge with no one there, And I alone can see the zombie stare That no one sees No one sees.

Vampire Mist

Vampire Mist I dreamed the morning would be clearer I woke and looked into the mirror Nothing there Why would I care To me it was no error No existential terror Just the fate I need to bear. I dreamed the morning would be brighter The mood and milieu would be lighter Nothing there Nothing to share To me the light was blinding My only finding It's the truth I have to bear! Notes: Vampire Missed, Vampire Eyes, From a collection called: Creatures I have known and been!

Does Your Cat Play The Fiddle?

Does Your Cat Play The Fiddle? Does your cat play the fiddle? Does she play violin? Does she play all night Till long after 10? I never really know  Just when it will end Does your cat play the fiddle Does she play violin Does your cat play the bongos? Does she play the Kazoo? When I first heard the music I thought it was you I have to wonder What's the world coming to? Does your cat play the bongos? Does she play the Kazoo? Does your cat play guitar Does she play rock and roll Does she play bass guitar For hip hop and soul Sometimes it seems like  Losing control Does your cat play guitar Does she play rock and roll? This song/children's tale is done to the tune of "Cotton Eye Joe"

Does Your Dog Own A Skateboard?

Does Your Dog Own A Skateboard? Does your dog own a skateboard? Does he own a bowling ball? I hear him in the kitchen, I hear him in the hall. I just have to stop and wonder At the wonder of it all! Does your dog own a skateboard? Does he own a bowling ball? Does your dog play soccer? Or maybe basketball? I can feel the windows rattle I can feel it through the wall I just have to stop and wonder At the wonder of it all! Does your dog own a skateboard? Does he own a bowling ball? Does your dog have a cricket bat? A cricket rubber ball? I hear him through the ceiling, See a bit of plaster fall. I just have to stop and wonder At the wonder of it all! Does your dog own a skateboard? Does he own a bowling ball?
